Built on the American Falcon platform, the US LTD (which stood for Lincoln Type Design) replaced the US-built Galaxie range that was Ford’s American luxury car mainstay in various 4.7L, 5.0L and 6.4L V8s.
It had styling similar to the smaller Australian LTD that replaced it, with concealed louvred headlights and distinctive Coke-bottle kink styling.
