PEUGEOT'S 3008 is a curious machine.
With five seats and as many doors it ticks the small hatchback box, but it also has the higher ride height and chunky body styling of an SUV, but then there's its front drive layout and captious cabin that says tallboy crossover. What is the 3008?
Interestingly, Peugeot's refreshed and streamlined 2015 3008 range has now been reclassified by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) as a small SUV, where it was previously referred to as a hatchback and that should give it a boost in the flourishing Australian segment.
The updated version also arrives with a $1000 price reduction, lightly facelifted looks and a dusting of new equipment, to take a fresh fight to the strong SUV competition from the likes of Volkswagen and its Tiguan, the ASX from Mitsubishi and Nissan's Qashqai.
But with its unusual features the little Pug can also go up against tallboy competition from the Mercedes-Benz B-Class, BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and Kia Rondo
