THE Tribeca is Subaru’s attempt to snare a slice of the US seven-seat SUV wagon market, so it is no surprise that, when this important model failed to reach sales targets, the Japanese company quickly went back to the drawing board to fix it. Just a year later, this new model addresses criticisms of the original Tribeca’s looks and lack of engine response. A bigger new engine, heavily revised transmission and new panels front and rear are the key changes and, while they smooth over the previous rough edges, is that enough to make the Tribeca a standout?
