Future models - Mazda - CX-6 - eFirst details revealed for Mazda CX-6e SUVAll-electric Mazda CX-6e SUV to offer comparable output and range to related 6e sedan31 Mar 2026 By MATT BROGAN MAZDA Australia has announced provisional specifications for its CX-6e electric SUV ahead of the model’s arrival in local dealerships later this year.
Based on the Changan Deepal S07, the Chinese-made Mazda CX-6e shares comparable design and technical aspects with the 6e sedan, both of which share Deepal’s EPA1 dedicated electric vehicle architecture.
Featuring Mazda’s Future + Soul x Modern design language – an extension of the already popular Kodo aesthetic – the CX-6e will be powered exclusively by a 78kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery to allow charging from 30-80 per cent in as little as 15 minutes.
Mazda says the CX-6e will be offer a WLTP driving range of more than 450km, the model motivated by a rear-mounted 190kW single electric motor (with no torque value provided).
GoAuto understands that much like the Mazda 6e, the CX-6e will be offered in two, highly specified trim grades each with competitive pricing with a Mazda Australia spokesperson saying the “final value proposition will be sharp”.
By way of reference, the Mazda 6e is priced from $49,990 plus on-road costs. It is expected the CX-6e will be offered from close to $55,000 + ORC.
Commenting on the imminent arrival of the Mazda CX-6e, Mazda Australia director of sales and marketing Jarrod Gieschen said the model is set to rival similarly sized SUV rivals in offering Australian buyers the opportunity to move toward electric vehicle ownership.
“The Mazda CX-6e joining its sedan sibling, the Mazda 6e, in the Mazda Australia line-up is an imperative step to providing our customers with the power of choice,” he said.
“This multi-solution approach allows our customers to confidently enter EV ownership, knowing they’re backed by over 100 years of experience and more than 140 trusted dealerships nationwide – a statement that only few manufacturers in Australia can make.”
While more details of the Mazda CX-6e won’t be known until closer to the model’s local launch, it is worth noting that the vehicle’s specifications compare closely to its sedan-bodied sibling (the Mazda 6e).
As detailed below, the relationship between the sedan and SUV is evident, with all specifications bar range (no doubt impacted by the SUV model’s additional weight) quite comparable.
