New models - Cupra - TerramarCupra Terramar priced for AustraliaMild-hybrid and turbo-petrol Cupra Terramar available in July priced from $53,99010 Jun 2025 By MATT BROGAN CUPRA has announced timing and pricing details for its incoming Terramar mild-hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) and turbo-petrol range, the medium-segment SUV landing in July priced from $53,990 plus on-road costs.
Named for the spiritual birthplace of the Cupra brand, the banked Terramar racetrack in Sitges, the Terramar joins the recently launched Tavascan EV in providing Australian Cupra customers a choice of MHEV, ICE, or BEV medium SUVs.
The line-up will be bolstered once more in 2026 when the Terramar plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) joins the ranks.
For now, the Terramar will be offered in S (from $53,990 + ORC) and VZ (from $68,200 + ORC) grades, with V (from $61,990 + ORC) and VZe (pricing TBC) variants following in September and early next year respectively.
Cupra says all will continue the brand’s focus upon styling and design while being positioned as “neither luxury not mainstream”, and with a “clear focus on the driver and driving dynamics”.
The Cupra Terramar S arrives generously equipped as standard with 18-inch Atomic black and silver finished alloy wheels, keyless entry and ignition, powered tailgate with kick sensor, 360-degree camera technology, a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, 15.0-inch infotainment array, native sat nav, head-up display, wireless smartphone mirroring, power adjustable and heated front seats with driver’s side memory, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, and 40:20:40 split-fold rear seat functionality.
Power comes from a turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 48-volt electric motor assistance producing 110kW/250Nm and driving the front wheels. Combined cycle fuel consumption is listed at 5.7 litres per 100km.
For the Terramar V grade we find 19-inch Cosmic black and copper alloy wheels and uprated rear brakes.
The second-tier variant offers a more powerful turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and all-wheel drive combination with a claimed combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 7.2 litres per 100km.
Cupra says both the S and V variants may be further optioned with a Leather & Sound Package ($1600) featuring deep burgundy coloured leather upholstery and a 12-speaker Sennheiser audio bundle – both features standard on the Terramar VZ.
For the ‘VZ’ we find 20-inch Hadron black and copper alloy wheels, adaptive damping, upgraded brake package, Matrix Ultra high beam headlighting, and customisable engine sound modelling on top of or in addition to those features listed for the Terramar V.
A high-performance Akebono front brake package is available for $4200.
The sporty variant is powered by the same turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and all-wheel drive as before, this time tuned to output 195kW/400Nm for a claimed 0-100km/h time of 5.9 seconds.
All Terramar variants may be optioned with a panoramic roof ($2000) and premium paint colours Dark Void or Graphene Grey ($620). Glacial White, Fiord Blue, Timanfaya Grey, Midnight Black, and Cosmos Blue are available at no additional cost.
“The Cupra Formentor has long been our best-seller, so it’s safe to say we know how much Australians love a sporty looking yet practical SUV,” said Cupra Australia head of product Jeff Shafer.
“With the Cupra Terramar, Cupra is able to offer a significantly larger vehicle that caters to both families and those with active lifestyles but retaining that signature Catalan flair.
“Customers can also dial up their level of powertrain spice, from efficient yet responsive mild hybrid to hot hatchback-like performance from the 400Nm flagship turbo engine.
“Later, the range will be joined by another turbo four alongside a PHEV offering more than 100km electric-only range as well.”
