New models - Hyundai - Palisade - EliteHyundai rolls out entry level Palisade Elite trimElite grade joins Hyundai Palisade large SUV line-up, cutting cost of entry by $13K26 Feb 2026 HYUNDAI has reduced the point of entry to its family-focused three-row Palisade large SUV by $13,400 with the introduction of a new Elite trim this month that starts from $76,500 before on-road costs.
The move follows pricing criticism when the single-variant second-generation Palisade range launched late last year with a whopping $23,000 higher entry price than the outgoing line-up as it arrived exclusively in flagship Calligraphy trim.
Despite a significantly lower sticker price, the Elite inherits plenty of technology and features of the Calligraphy, including the hybrid powertrain and local suspension tune.
The 2.5-litre turbocharged hybrid powertrain produces an unchanged 245kW/460Nm, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission sending drive to all four wheels.
Hyundai’s latest hybrid system returns a claimed combined fuel use of 6.8L/100km, as well as offering vehicle-to-load – typically only found on battery electric vehicles and plug-in-hybrids – adding to its versatility.
While the Calligraphy grade is available in both eight- and seven-seat configurations, the Elite will be offered as only an eight-seater, positioning it firmly as a family hauler.
Hyundai has also restyled the Elite variant, giving it a slightly more rugged look with a unique front grille, lower bumpers and side skirts, while it rides on 20-inch wheels (down from the 21s of the Calligraphy).
Inside, the Elite uses the same dual display arrangement, made up of two 12.3-inch screens, and 14-speaker Bose system. Black leather upholstery is standard.
Like its fancier sibling, the Palisade Elite gets Hyundai’s latest suite of ADAS features ranging from adaptive cruise control to a driver monitoring system that keeps drivers alert and suggests they take breaks when fatigued.
Compared with the Calligraphy, the Elite misses out on plusher Nappa leather, ambient lighting, dual-pane sunroof and suede-like roof lining.
For many would-be buyers, particularly families, the lesser leather and lack of sunroof are likely insignificant differences, but the price tag is a lot more compelling.
“Palisade Elite ushers in an attainable eight-seater SUV as the perfect complement to our Calligraphy flagship,” said Hyundai Motor Company Australia chief operating officer Gavin Donaldson.
“With a next-generation dual-motor Hybrid powertrain, locally tuned steering and suspension, and an array of EV-like features, Palisade Elite is the ideal family vehicle.”
The Palisade Elite is available for order this month and will include the same seven-year/unlimited kilometre warranty as existing models, while the battery itself is warranted for eight years/160,000kms. ![]() Read more24th of February 2026 ![]() Hyundai Elexio priced for AustraliaFamily-focused Hyundai Elexio electric SUV now available from under $60KAll new modelsMotor industry news |
