New models - Kia - EV3 - GT-LineAWD flagship completes Kia EV3 rangeDual-motor GT-Line arrives in September with 195kW, Australian chassis tune, 559km range13 Jul 2026 By MATT BROGAN KIA Australia has completed its local EV3 line-up with the announcement of a new dual-motor GT-Line AWD flagship, due to arrive in dealerships from September priced from $66,490 plus on-road costs.
The new variant adds all-wheel drive capability and a substantial performance boost to Kia’s smallest electric SUV, pairing a second electric motor with the existing 81.4kWh long-range battery to produce combined outputs of 195kW/385Nm.
Kia says the additional performance cuts the EV3’s 0-100km/h sprint time to 6.6 seconds while maintaining a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 559km.
The GT-Line AWD follows what Kia Australia says is growing momentum for the EV3 locally, with the model recording its strongest sales month to date in June when 821 examples were delivered.
While the new flagship introduces a more powerful drivetrain, Kia says the impact on driving range has been kept to a minimum, broadening the EV3's appeal for buyers seeking stronger performance without sacrificing long-distance usability.
Beyond the addition of a rear-mounted electric motor, the GT-Line AWD receives a number of chassis upgrades designed to complement its higher outputs.
These include larger brake hardware along with a bespoke suspension and steering package developed specifically for Australian road conditions, continuing Kia Australia’s long-standing focus on local ride and handling calibration.
The company says the local tuning program aims to deliver greater confidence and refinement across a range of road surfaces while maintaining the comfort and everyday usability expected of the EV3.
The GT-Line AWD is powered by Kia’s dual-motor all-wheel drive system, which combines with the 81.4kWh battery pack to deliver improved traction and acceleration compared with the front-wheel drive EV3 variants already on sale.
With the addition of the new flagship, the EV3 range now spans a broader range of customer requirements, from efficiency-focused front-wheel drive models through to a higher-performance all-wheel drive offering.
The EV3 forms an important part of Kia Australia’s expanding electric vehicle portfolio and continues the brand’s strategy of introducing battery-electric models across multiple market segments.
The arrival of the GT-Line AWD also strengthens Kia’s position in Australia's increasingly competitive small electric SUV segment, where buyers are demanding greater model choice, improved performance and longer driving range.
Full Australian specifications and standard equipment for the EV3 GT-Line AWD will be confirmed closer to its September showroom arrival.
