New models - Land Rover - Defender - VertexLand Rover Defender Vertex headlines updateNew flagship variant, six-seat 110, expanded personalisation join refreshed MY27 Defender range10 Jul 2026 LAND ROVER has unveiled a comprehensive update for the Defender range, headlined by the introduction of the new Vertex specification, expanded personalisation options, and a six-seat Defender 110, while retaining the model’s renowned off-road capability.
The MY27 update also introduces new exterior styling packages, additional colours, factory accessories, and enhanced in-car technology across the range.
Sitting alongside the existing X grade, the new Defender Vertex is available on Defender 90 and 110 models and combines premium appointments with distinctive styling.
Exterior revisions include extended front and rear bumpers finished in Shadow Atlas Matte, a larger front grille, revised fog lamps, body-coloured lower cladding, and a gloss black tailgate spoiler.
The new flagship also gains yellow brake callipers and exposed rear recovery eyes, while riding on new 22-inch diamond-turned alloy wheels finished in Satin Dark Grey.
Inside, buyers can choose between Windsor leather, Ultrafabrics, or the new Forged Textile upholstery, a knitted polyester material introduced to improve durability.
Three-zone climate control is standard on Defender 90 and 110 Vertex models.
Land Rover has also introduced an Extended Exterior Pack for X-Dynamic SE, X-Dynamic HSE, and V8 variants, bringing much of the Vertex styling to lower grades through revised bumpers, a rear spoiler, body-coloured spare wheel cover, and additional alloy wheel options.
The Defender 110 Trophy Edition has been refreshed with a new Santorini Black exterior replacing Keswick Green, while retaining expedition-focused equipment including an expedition roof rack, deployable ladder, raised air intake, and side-mounted gear carrier.
At the top of the range, the Defender OCTA gains a new Woolstone Green paint finish and additional carbon fibre options for OCTA Black.
Australian models continue with the 467kW twin-turbo V8 MHEV, despite lower outputs being adopted in some overseas markets to meet stricter emissions regulations.
A new Namib Orange exterior colour joins the Defender palette, while Land Rover has also introduced a self-healing Gloss Protective Film designed to reduce the appearance of stone chips and minor scratches over time.
A notable practical addition is a new six-seat configuration for Defender 110. The 2+2+2 layout replaces the traditional second-row bench with individual captain’s chairs, improving third-row access while increasing rear passenger comfort.
The update also expands the factory accessories catalogue with a roof-mounted light pod producing up to 9000 lumens, a lockable tail door gear carrier providing 60 litres of storage, and additional spoiler options.
Inside, Defender introduces an upgraded AI-powered voice assistant activated by Hey Land Rover, allowing more natural conversational voice control, while a new Technology Pack bundles a head-up display, Meridian Surround Sound audio system, ClearSight rear-view mirror, and household power outlet.
The MY27 Defender range is available to order now, with pricing starting from $102,800 plus on-road costs.
