New models - Mahindra - Pik-UpMahindra updates Pik-Up ute for 2020Slight price hike brings more standard kit, fresh face for Mahindra Pik-Up workhorse4 May 2020 MAHINDRA has treated its venerable Pik-Up workhorse ute to a makeover for 2020, one that adds a facelifted front end and extra equipment across the range, with the base Single Cab 4x2 S6+ now available from $23,990 driveaway.
The aesthetic enhancements are shared across the four-variant line-up and include a redesigned front grille, static bending projection headlamps, LED daytime running lights and new foglight arrangement.
Mahindra says the Pik-Up’s new front fascia “enhances its tough signature stance” and “comfortably takes both city and tough off-road tracks in its stride”.
The ‘+’ moniker added to both the S6 and S10 trim level denotes the extra equipment brought in for the new model year, with the S6+ picking up cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity and upgraded fabric seats with armrests and driver’s side height adjustment now standard.
The S6+ is the standard trim level available on three of the four Pik-Up variants – Single Cab 4x2, Single Cab 4x4 ($27,990 driveaway) and the Single Cab 4x4 Pastoral Pack ($35,990 d/a).
The Pastoral Pack is new for 2020 and aimed at Mahindra’s “rural, trade and fleet buyers”, adding a winch-compatible bullbar, brush rails, snorkel, towbar, vinyl floor, canvas seat cover and bashplate in order to make the single cab 4x4 variant more robust and ready for off-road conditions.
Many of these are available as individual factory accessories.
Reserved exclusively for the flagship Dual Cab 4x4 S10+ ($32,990 d/a), the S10+ trim level adds an upgraded 7.0-inch touchscreen (up from 6.0-inch), high-resolution reversing camera and satellite navigation as standard on top of the previous S10’s spec.
Standard safety gear across the range includes hill-descent control, ESC, ABS, EBD, rollover mitigation, dual front airbags, as well as two Isofix anchors in the rear seat with three top tether points for all dual-cab variants.
All Pik-Up variants regardless of driveline are powered by the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine which produces 103kW of power and 320Nm of torque.
Drive in the 4x2 variant is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission only while the same gearbox sends power to all four corners in the 4x4s. All variants feature an Eaton self-locking rear differential. No automatic transmission is available.
Payload capacity for all variants is rated at 1095kg while braked towing capacity is capped at 2.5 tonnes.
