Volkswagen Amarok supply runs high

Strong supply available of high-grade Volkswagen Amarok PanAmericana and Aventura

5 Feb 2025

ADDITIONAL supply of high-grade Volkswagen Amarok PanAmericana and Aventura variants is now assured for Australian buyers, the duo available in conjunction with offers centred around remaining 2023-24 stock of select Amarok grades.

According to Volkswagen Australia, the Amarok PanAmericana is now available from $86,557 drive-away (based on a Sydney 2000 postcode), the variant offered until the end of March with a 3.99 per cent finance rate via Volkswagen Choice when purchased with a 10 per cent deposit.

Further, the Amarok Aventura – in petrol or diesel format – is available from $90,677 drive-away (again based upon a Sydney 2000 postcode) with a $3000 factory discount offered on the TSI425 (petrol) grade until March 31.

As with the PanAmericana, the Amarok Aventura is available with a 3.99 per cent finance offer when purchased with a 10 per cent deposit via Volkswagen Choice.

Volkswagen Australia says supply of its most popular Amarok grade – the mid-tier Style – remains strong, with free on-road costs accompanying the variant until the end of March.

MY23 plated Amarok Style TDI500 variants are now available from $66,990 drive-away with MY24 plated stock offered from $69,740 drive-away.

Remaining MY23 plated Style TDI600 models are available from $70,990 drive-away and MY24 plated stock from $73,740 drive-away.

Despite the abundance of old-plated stock, Volkswagen Australia says the Amarok is “the premium, and the value leader, among V6 dual-cab utes” saying its V6-powered range is considerably cheaper than a comparable Ford Ranger Sport V6.

Recapping grade highlights elsewhere in the range, Volkswagen Australia notes equipment standouts of the Amarok Style including Matrix LED headlights, adaptive high beam with cornering lights, puddle lights, a 12.0-inch instrumentation screen, 360-degree camera system, 10-way powered driver seat, and full-length App Connect screen integration when compared with the Ranger Sport V6.

Further down the walk, we find MY23 plated stock of the Amarok Core TDI405 available from $59,777 drive-away and MY24 plated stock from $62,352 drive-away.

Amarok Life TDI500 are likewise available priced from $63,897 drive-away with an MY23 build plate or from $66,472 drive-away when stamped with an MY24 plate.

Volkswagen Australia says large fleet discounts remain available, further reducing the drive-away price of Amarok models for ABN holders. Further information is available via the importer’s public website or at your local Volkswagen dealership.

“The Amarok has long been loved by Australian customers for its combination of elevated Volkswagen feel and style, hard-working off-road toughness and superior turbocharged four-cylinder and V6 performance,” said Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles director Ryan Davies.

“It is fitting that loyal Amarok customers typically pursue the middle and higher specification variants because that’s the premium feel that Volkswagen delivers inside and on the road – finally with the PanAmericana and Aventurawe can meet this demand thanks to extra supply.

In 2024, Volkswagen sold a total of 8400 Amarok variants locally, well behind the Ford Ranger on which it is based (57,960 units).

The four-wheel drive light commercial utility segment sales saw the Ford Ranger top the Australian charts in 2024 ahead of the Toyota Hilux (45,839), Isuzu D-Max (24,031), Mitsubishi Triton (14,737), Mazda BT-50 (12,161), Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series (11,929), and aged Nissan Navara (9032).

Volkswagen Amarok’s eighth place saw it outsell only the GWM Ute (7976), LDV T60 (6302), SsangYong Musso (3197), new-to-market GWM Cannon Alpha (1095), and slow-selling Jeep Gladiator (515).
