Subaru unveils all-electric Uncharted in NYC

Third all-new EV from Subaru showcased in New York as Uncharted SUV

18 Jul 2025

SUBARU Corporation has unveiled its all-new Uncharted SUV in New York, the model the third in the Japanese manufacturer’s EV roll-out that will see eight new battery electric vehicles debut before 2028.

The compact segment entrant is said to combine “usability and exceptional driveability with powerful performance” that aims to appeal to customers with “diverse lifestyles”.

Subaru says the Uncharted features “a clean, seamless front design and a high-contrast, compact body that is both sporty and sophisticated, creating a more active, rugged visual presence”.

Inside, the vehicle’s “dynamic character” is said to be heightened by exclusive orange interior accents and an “instrument panel punctuated with sharp horizontal lines, and an airy cabin designed for comfort”. Cargo space is listed as “ample”.

While full specifications and equipment details are yet to be divulged, Subaru says the Uncharted is 170mm shorter than the Solterra and will feature a 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery to offer up to 485km of driving range with front-wheel drive format and up to 450km for the all-wheel drive.

Like many BEVs, the battery pack of the Subaru Uncharted features an onboard battery preconditioning system that helps to achieve a 10-80 per cent charging time of “approximately 30 minutes”.

The Uncharted joins the already-available Solterra and forthcoming Trailseeker in offering “high-output motors” that are said to deliver “expansive linear acceleration” by “swiftly generating maximum torque”.

Jointly developed with Toyota, the Uncharted is scheduled for release in the US market in 2026. There is no news yet on whether the model will be offered in right-hand drive and for markets including Australia.
