Ram Trucks Australia has introduced a new entry-level Express Black Edition to its 1500 line-up, dropping the price of admission to its full-size US pickup by more than $30,000 and undercutting rivals from Ford, Chevrolet, and Toyota. Pricing starts at $109,950 + ORC.

Heavy duty Ram pick-up trucks gain more luxury gear and significantly stepped-up load-hauling grunt courtesy of a heavily revised Cummins turbo diesel engine as part of a major update that has also toughened the look.

Comprehensively revised Ram 1500 large pick-up now with all-new 313kW/635Nm twin-turbo Hurricane 3.0-litre straight-six (for the time being). PHEV and BEV variants unlikely Down Under, local right-hand drive conversion underway with more tech, safety and efficiency than before.

Additional to the local RAM V8 line-up, the ‘Sport’ grade gains interior and exterior upgrades and enhancements including colour-coded bumpers, grille and mirrors and new 20-inch alloy wheels.

While the larger 2500 and 3500 have been imported for some time through specialist converter American Specialist Vehicles, the company has confirmed that it will bring the smaller 1500 pick-up to Australia in the middle of 2018.
