New models - Audi - Q5Audi tweaks Q5 with more gearPopular options made standard on Audi Q5 in equipment and price revision23 Sep 2019 AUDI Australia has given its top-selling model, the Q5 mid-sized luxury SUV, an equipment boost, with variants receiving up to $10,000 in extra value to entice more buyers.
The company says it picked the most popular options since the launch of the current generation in 2017 and made them standard.
Most of the revised variants come with revised pricing, with the entry-level diesel Q5 40TDI Design getting the biggest price cut, down $800, while the flagship SQ5 – which has the biggest equipment gain – goes up $758.
The Q5 range now kicks off at $65,900 plus on-road costs for the 40TDI Design and tops out at $99,900 for the SQ5.
Audi Australia product planning and pricing director Shawn Ticehurst said Audi had listened to its customers when making the equipment changes.
“We had an opportunity to further improve the Q5 and SQ5 as a package, and so we looked at their priorities to help shape how we achieved that,” he said.
“We think owners will be delighted with our new offer – the Audi Q5 and SQ5 have never been stronger.”
The base diesel 40TDI Design and petrol 45TFSI Design variants gain a new two-tone 19-inch alloy wheel, MMI navigation plus with MMI touch, active lane assist and high beam assist.
One step up the rankings, the diesel 40TDI and petrol 45TFSI Sport get a panoramic sunroof, parking assistance with 360-degree camera, auto-dimming mirrors, heated front seats and driver’s seat memory.
The 50TDI Sport also gains the panoramic glass sunroof, as well as the S-line exterior package and Milano leather upholstery.
The SQ5 TFSI gets no-cost metallic paint, the panoramic sunroof, Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, head up display, extended upholstery package and variable front-seat head restraints with fore-aft adjustment.
So far this year, Q5 sales are running 3.3 per cent ahead of last year, with 2538 units rolling out of showrooms to the end of August.
This performance was helped by a dramatic increase in August sales, with 354 units finding new homes.
However, the Q5 still trails its German rivals, with Mercedes-Benz’s GLC achieving 4069 sales so far this year, and the BMW X3 claiming 3222 deliveries. 2019 Audi Q5 pricing*
