New models - GWM - Tank - 300GWM adds diesel to Tank 300 rangeHigher towing capacity, enviable pricing for newly launched GWM Tank 300 Diesel6 Mar 2025 GWM is expanding its Tank 300 line-up with the introduction of a new turbo-diesel powered variant from this month.
Designed to deliver what GWM says is “exceptional off-road performance and improved efficiency” the variant joins petrol and petrol-electric Tank 300 models in two trim grades – Lux and Ultra.
Priced from $47,990 drive-away, the GWM Tank 300 Diesel is powered by a 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine delivering 135kW at 3600rpm and 480Nm from 1500-2500rpm.
The variant is paired exclusively with a nine-speed automatic transmission to achieve a combined cycle fuel economy figure of 7.8 litres per 100km.
GWM says the new powertrain has allowed a higher towing capacity for its Tank 300, the diesel-powered variant hauling 3000kg (braked) up from 2500kg on petrol and petrol-electric models.
Features, safety equipment, and technology are as per the related grade of Tank 300 petrol-electric hybrid.
“The introduction of the new Tank 300 Diesel builds on the success of our rugged off-road range, offering customers a more powerful yet highly efficient powertrain option,” said GWM Australia head of marketing and communication Steve Maciver.
“With impressive towing capability, refined performance, and two well-equipped grades, this new variant reinforces our commitment to delivering versatile and capable vehicles.”
As with all GWM passenger vehicles, the 2025 GWM Tank 300 Diesel is backed by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty with included roadside assistance and capped price servicing bundle.
Further, and for those customers who order a Tank 300 Diesel in March 2025, GWM will offer three years of complimentary scheduled servicing.
The GWM Tank 300 vies against the likes of the Ford Everest, Isuzu MU-X, Jeep Wrangler, and Toyota LandCruiser Prado within the SUV Large under $80K segment.
Year-to-date sales for the model tally 304 units, down 29.9 per cent on the same time last year.
