New models - Volkswagen - ID.4VW ID.4 and ID.5 priced for OzAll-electric Volkswagen duo available from $59,990 and $72,990 respectively5 Mar 2025 By MATT BROGAN VOLKSWAGEN Australia has announced pricing details for its all-electric ID.4 and ID.5 this week, the duo available from $59,990 and $72,990 respectively excluding on-road costs.
Standard equipment highlights include IQ.Light Matrix LED headlights with adaptive high beam, 3D LED tail-lights with dynamic indicators, keyless access, a powered tailgate, and a panoramic roof with electric blind.
Inside, the duo boasts ArtVelours microfleece upholstery, power adjustable and heated front seats with memory and massage function, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, 12.9-inch infotainment with App-Connect, Area View 360-degree camera, and GoConnect app connectivity providing functions such as live technical status, state of charge, and vehicle location.
Further included is VW’s Travel Assist semi-autonomous driving technology combining Adaptive Cruise Control with active Lane Assist is also standard, along with Side Assist, Emergency Assist, oncoming vehicle braking when turning and swerve support, proactive passenger protection system, and front and rear parking sensors.
Both the ID.4 and ID.5 include Mode 2 and 3 charging cables.
The ID.4 Pro will arrive with 210kW and 545Nm of electric power driving the rear wheels. It can accelerate from standstill to 100km/h in a claimed 6.7 seconds, and is characterised by 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive damping, and progressive rate steering.
VW lists a driving range of up to a claimed 544km (WLTP).
For the sportier ID.5 GTX we find 250kW of power (a torque figure is not provided) and 4Motion all-wheel drive for a 0-100km/h time of 5.4 seconds. Driving range is listed at a claimed 522km.
Additionally, the variant offers 20-inch alloy wheels, sports seats, and a 480-watt harman/kardon premium audio system.
Available options include metallic paint ($1000), premium metallic paint ($1300 on ID.5 GTX only), Exterior Style package ($900 on ID.4 Pro only).
“We said recently that we were driving hard to achieve the best position for ID. 4 and ID. 5,” said Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles director Piergiorgio Minto.
“Volkswagen is delivering on that promise with high specification for the price, higher outputs and longer range than most rivals, with the pedigree of German engineering and the local focus on making BEV ownership easy.
“As the only brand that has consistently made performance petrol SUVs available to customers, the ID. 4 Pro and ID. 5 GTX now speak directly to Tiguan customers and SUV customers with BEV and petrol pricing aligned.”
